The blood and tissue residue in the patient's mouth are usually discharged into the drainage pipeline through the spittoon of the dental chair. However, most drainage outlets are not sealed. Over time, these outlets are prone to sedimentation and become breeding grounds for bacteria and viruses, which may then spread through drainage pipes in the clinic, affecting overall air quality and generating a foul odor.
